TESOL Certificate Program and Master of Arts in Education
With Concentration in TESOL
Greetings From the Dean of the
CSUSB College of Extended Learning
Hello Students and Teachers,
Welcome to our new TESOL Certificate Program and Master’s in Education with a TESOL Option. The online certificate program allows you to update your TESOL skills in only two quarters from the comfort of your own home. This program is great if you are new to teaching EFL and would like to know more about the fundamentals of the field or if you have been teaching for a long time and would like to do some continuing education. After all, we teachers are also perpetual students.
After completing the two-quarter online certificate program, you can choose to continue in the hybrid master's program and obtain your Master of Arts in Education with a TESOL Option through California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) . You will have the opportunity to spend a summer or winter quarter here in the U.S. to bring your skills up-to-date and have one-on-one contact with our wonderful faculty on our beautiful campus, located at the base of the San Bernardino National Forest, one hour from the beaches of Los Angeles and one hour from cool mountain ski resorts.
This is the first program of its kind and I encourage you to take advantage of it and be one of the first to be able to complete this quality master’s program in only 13 months.
Sincerely,
Dr. Tatiana Karmanova, Dean

Greetings From the Coordinator
M. A. in Education, TESOL Option
Dear Students and Teachers,
I would like to extend our warm greetings to you and congratulate you for considering our new TESOL Certificate Program and Master’s in Education with a TESOL option. I sincerely look forward to working with you over the next 13 months. I am sure that you will find the course a rewarding and enriching experience. This is the first program of its kind to be offered, so you will have the opportunity to earn a valuable degree that will help you to be even more successful in the area of English language teaching.
We have an exciting curriculum that begins with three quarters of online courses to enrich your understanding of the theories and principles that underlie the teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages and which culminates in four months of study at the California State University campus in San Bernardino, California. This will give you the opportunity to meet our faculty, take advantage of our campus resources, and learn about the American education system and American lifestyle first hand.
I hope to see you here!
Sincerely,
Dr. Lynne Diaz-Rico, Coordinator
