A Message From the Dean

Summer 2011

Welcome to summer quarter at the College of ExtendedLearning. It’s a great time of year to travel, take a well-deserved vacation break or learn something new. This quarter, we’re offering exciting summer courses for everyone, including children.

If you’re already planning activities for your children’s summer break, check out our Creative and Graphic Arts program, back by popular demand. You’ll discover fun courses designed to engage the imagination and creativity of children from 8–17 years old. Choose from our one-day courses in cartoon drawing or video game design. These Saturday courses fill up quickly and enrollment is limited, so don’t wait to reserve a seat for your budding artist or designer.

If you want to enjoy the great outdoors, improve job skills, or exercise your brain by taking a personal enrichment class, we’ve got courses for you, too. Choose something off the beaten path by participating in a real archeological field study with the U.S. Forest Service. Check out our new course, “Exploration into Green Technology,” an introduction into alternative energy technologies and sustainability. Discover how to become better in your career (or start anew one) with courses for teachers, human resources professionals, medical information specialists, and anyone interested in the rapidly expanding field of green technology. Choose stand-alone courses or work toward a skill-enhancing professional certificate program. For your convenience, many courses can be completed entirely online.

This summer marks the beginning of prerequisite courses for CSUSB’s new, accelerated MBA for Executives program. Courses for the 18-month program will be held one evening aweek and every other Saturday in Ontario. If you have a bachelor’s degree, five years of executive or senior management-level work experience, and the desire to take your career to the next level, consider applying for this prestigious program. Courses are offered through Cal State University’s internationally-recognized College of Business and Public Administration. If you’d like more information or want to be part of this select group, please call (909) 537-3990.

Get a head start on some enjoyable summer reading with our Online Course Catalog and start making your plans now.
